Taipei to Host World of Warcraft Regional Semifinals

World of Warcraft gamers and fans are bound to crowd the regional semifinals of the World of Warcraft competition to be held Aug. 1 at the Syntrend Creative Park in Taipei, Blizzard Entertainment, the event’s organizer, said on Monday.

In June 2015, World of Warcraft had been chosen as one of the pioneer inductees for the new Video Game Hall of Fame (HOF). Other inductees consist of classic video games, such as Doom, Pong, Super Mario Bros., Pac-Man, as well as the first version of the famous Facebook game Tetris Battle.

With an estimated 7.1 million active gamers of World of Warcraft (as of May 2015), the contest has become more aggressive among players around the globe.

The competition started in April where preliminary rounds were held. Four teams from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan were able to break through the preliminary challenge and are set to battle each other head-on in an elimination system.

The teams must obtain a score of two wins in a consecutive three-game match in order to enter the finals. Teams with two loses in the semifinals will automatically be eliminated.

The prize of NT$30,000 ($950) will go to the champion team, while the runner-up team will receive NT$18,000 ($570). These teams will become qualified to join the Asia-Pacific tournament.

As the ladder goes up, the champion of the Asia-Pacific tournament will in turn get the chance to take part in the World Championship of BlizzCon 2015, set to be held in California in November this year.  Best site for wow gold

WildStar is Getting a Class Stat System Overhaul

Carbine Studios, the makers of WildStar, have announced a new effort called Class Stat Refactoring for the game’s upcoming free-to-play transition.

In efforts to make player stats feel more rewarding and intuitive, the developer is improving the overall clarity and consistency of stats in the game to make sure they feel both balanced and fun.

As a result of their stat system overhaul, the game will see the implementation of a new and improved stats system that’s easier to pick up and understand for new players, while offering improved control and specialization options for veterans.

The game’s lead combat designer Stephen Engle goes into great detail about the player stat changes in a blog post.

When the free-to-play update goes live soon, there will be a total of six core stats, each of which serves a purpose to every class. Secondary stats will also be available for experienced players to figure out, allowing for more customization and control over individual playstyles than players have seen before. -Cheap Wildstar Gold Online

World Of Warcraft: Warlords Of Draenor’s Final Raid Boss Beaten After 472 Attempts

The final raid boss of the latest expansion for World of Warcraft is Archimonde. He’s a big, tough, hard-to-kill bad guy in the Twisting Nether. A guild finally beat him on the highest difficulty setting but it took 472 attempts.

Blizzard’s Warlords of Draenor expansion features hard-knuckled raid in the Hellfire Citadel. The run is nothing special for advanced, high-level guilds but on the hardest difficulty setting, Mythic, the run proved to be a heck of a lot more difficult than even one of the top guilds had anticipated.

Over on MMO Champion they have a brief blurb about the guild Method finally having beat Archimonde on the Mythic raid setting. One of the members of the guild going by the handle Ashvael, sent out a tweet notifying the World of Warcraft raiding community that Archimonde on Mythic was the one raid where he’s wiped the most.

As it shows on Ashvael’s profile, Method only died four times to Archimonde on Normal while killing him five times. The Heroic version of Archimonde was a bit more of a challenge, wiping the guild 26 times. But my oh my… look at those Mythic stats. 472 failed attempts. That’s a huge time investment. If the average attempt was around 5 minutes, that would be over 39 hours.

Blizzard said in the past that Hellfire Citadel is Draenor’s last raid and they seem to have ended the expansion with a bang. If Mythic Archimonde took this much time and effort for Method, other guilds are bound to be occupied with him for months. That’s a good thing for Blizzard, because busy players are more likely to remain paying subscribers. World of Warcraft’s development team hasn’t announced the next expansion for the game yet so it’s likely a year or more away. That’s a long time for an MMO to go without new content so the longer Hellfire Citadel can hold players’ attention during that period, the better. If not, we could see another big dip in WoW’s subscribers.

Patch 6.2 also introduced some other diversions for players. They can now test their skills in a new difficulty setting for Warlords of Draenor’s five-man dungeons. Shipyards for garrisons allows them to build up a fleet and send them off on missions. Blizzard is now holding regular weekend events in the game as well. For example, Timewalking events open up an old dungeon with enemies and gear scaled up to player’s higher levels. -Buy cheap wow gold online

World of Warcraft’s PvP Is Getting a Big Change

Doing all the Tanaan Jungle dailies and raiding Hellfire Citadel are pretty fun in Warlords of Draenor, but even after patch 6.2, there’s one thing that’s just not shaping up as intended: the large PvP island Ashran. In an upcoming patch, a new feature called “Mercenary Mode” that allows players to join the battle for the opposite faction. It might shake things up a bit.

This is actually really good news. PvP is still fun in World of Warcraft, but some maps feel a bit broken, abandoned or unbalanced. There are more than a dozen PvP battlegrounds in the game, so it’s not that surprising. However, Ashran, the big new max level zone with really cool level 100 rewards, is one of them. People usually have to wait an hour or so to get in, and when they’re finally there, the battle is so unbalanced that it just doesn’t worth the wait. Ashran got a few tweaks in patch 6.2, but the queue is still huge. So a change like this might be pretty cool.

Here’s what Blizzard shared about this new feature and how it’ll work:

In an upcoming patch, we’ll be adding a feature that allows you to act as a mercenary for the opposite faction in PvP. Whenever your faction is experiencing a long wait time to get into Ashran or unrated Battlegrounds, agents of the enemy faction will appear in your base in Ashran (Stormshield for the Alliance, Warspear for the Horde). These agents will allow you to enter Ashran or Battlegrounds disguised as an enemy player, and actually fight as the opposite faction.

When you compete as a mercenary, you’ll still earn all the same rewards you would have by winning or losing as your own faction (with the exception of faction-specific achievements). You’ll also have your race automatically changed into one appropriate for the opposite faction while you’re still inside the Battleground or Ashran. Perhaps most importantly, however, you’ll experience much shorter queue times, as our matchmaking system will be able to fill up groups much quicker!-Cheap wow gold online

Fly Over The World of Warcraft on a Gryphon in Amazing 360-Degree Video

Following its launch as a virtual reality app last week, Legendary Pictures has now released a YouTube version of an amazing 360-degree video that lets you fly over Azeroth on the back of mythic gryphon.

It’s of course meant to promote Legendary’s upcoming fantasy movie Warcraft, based on the Blizzard Entertainment’s juggernaut gaming franchise. Specifically, the city you’re flying over is Stormwind.

The new YouTube version supports YouTube 360 (on Chrome only), allowing you to use the directional tools to look in any direction you want. Be sure to do that as the video unfolds for the biggest impact.

Star Wars studio Industrial Light & Magic, which is providing the effects shots for Warcraft, developed the Azeroth video through its xLAB division.

Warcraft hits theaters in June 2016, and could be followed up by two sequels. In other recent news about the movie, director Duncan Jones has confirmed that the first trailer will be released this fall.-Cheap wow gold online sell

What ‘World of Warcraft’ Teaches Us About Motivation

This time, it’s not the game that has people talking, but a movie based on the fantasy series. The movie’s trailer is set to premiere at the conference Saturday, July 11, and the film hits theaters next year.

The adventures of the Alliance and the Hordes might not seem like typical research material. However, given the smashing success of the game, Yulia Nevskaya, PhD, assistant professor of marketing at Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis; and Paulo Albuquerque, PhD, associate professor of marketing at the international business school INSEAD, found World of Warcraft gamers’ behavior to be the perfect foundation to help identify the type of motivation underlying video-gaming and understanding why it is so popular.

“We were thinking along the lines of extrinsic-intrinsic motivation,” Nevskaya said. “If an individual needs an external reward of some kind to perform an activity, we say she is extrinsically motivated. However, if she does what she does for the sake of that activity alone, she is intrinsically motivated.”

The study looked at gaming sessions of almost 1,000 randomly selected anonymous gamers. The data available to researchers showed when gamers logged in to play a game, when they progressed to the next level in a game, and when they got a “tangible” reward, such as a new sword or a virtual pet. By analyzing the timing of earning rewards against the timing of logging in and out of a game, the authors were able to classify each gamer as being mostly extrinsically or intrinsically motivated.

Researchers found about 20 percent of the gamers were highly motivated by the pure pleasure of exploring and interacting in the fantasy environment of the game-they were intrinsically motivated. The remaining 80 percent were more responsive to in-game extrinsic rewards that they earned during play.

“As such, by strategically managing the size and timing of those extrinsic rewards, a game developer can effectively manage gamers’ motivation to play the game,” Nevskaya said.

As a result of the study, the authors developed a model that can help companies develop optimal rewards schedules to maximize consumer engagement with games and similar types of products.-Buy cheap wow gold online

‘World of Warcraft’ Trailer or Gameplay Footage Arriving This Weekend

Fans of “World of Warcraft” are looking forward to this year’s Comic-Con event, which commences this week in San Diego, Calif., as it was announced that participants will be able to get first dibs on the film adaptation of the popular video game.

The confirmation came from Legendary Pictures, which is behind the movie’s production. Their schedule for Comic-Con 2015 was shared on Entertainment Weekly ahead of the event. The “World of Warcraft” panel will be presenting on Saturday, July 11, at the Hall H of the venue. Fans are to expect a “big public unveiling,” which many assume to be the full trailer of the movie.

Two years ago, Legendary Pictures together with Blizzard Entertainment briefly teased participants at the Comic-Con with a short clip of what was to come in the “Warcraft” movie. The sizzle reel never made its way online and was only reported by those who were on the panel, as per Comic Book Movie. This time, however, the trailer is expected to hit the Internet after the huge reveal this Saturday. It’s already making fans particularly giddy with excitement as this has been a long time coming.

The movie, simply called “Warcraft,” was first announced to be in development back in a press release in 2006. However, filming officially started only in 2014. After the filming was wrapped, Legendary Pictures announced that the movie will finally open in theaters in June 2016, according to IGN. That’s 10 years after the public learned of it.

Even though the film won’t be out until next year, there are already rumors that a sequel or possibly a trilogy is in the works.

“I know that my job in this first film is to establish certain characters, places and culture while telling a story that a broad audience can be excited by! Hopefully, if I have done my job right, people will want to know and see more! There is certainly plenty more to tell!” said the director to 2p when he was asked if the movie is slated to become a three-parter.-Cheap wow gold online

Mmobeys FIFA 16 No Touch Dribbling Footage Released

World Of Warcraft’ Patch 6.2 Rundown

The highly-anticipated 6.2 patch for World of Warcraft finally dropped not so long ago. Although, as the Inquisitr has previously reported, flying mounts still aren’t a thing, now that the dust and hotfixes have settled, we’re here to bring all of you up to speed who haven’t experienced it yet-or maybe aren’t planning to but still follow the content.

First and foremost, World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor 6.2: Fury of Hellfire (seriously) included the current expansion pack’s final raid, as per an article on CinemaBlend. Hellfire Citadel, which will be familiar to veterans of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade as the first dungeon of that pack, also mirrors the conclusion of Warcraft 3 in which the Orcish Horde realized that the Burning Crusade were their true enemies, and teamed up with the other races of Azeroth to defeat Archimonde-who is, once again, the boss in Hellfire Citadel. The whole scenario is dripping with symmetry from a lore perspective, recalling not only earlier expansions, but earlier games in the series.

Of course, the question being asked now is, what comes next? World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor has contained far less content than other expansions and is wrapping up earlier, and with no new expansion announced, fans are starting to grumble about not knowing what comes next.

Meanwhile, World of Warcraft patch 6.2 has plenty more to offer. New “Timewalking” dungeons, 71+ in Outland and 81+ in Northrend, have been introduced to World of Warcraft, according to a report from Youth Health Magazine.-Cheap wow gold online
